Morning in Benson, AZ

The dogs got me out of bed bright and early this morning, 5:15am. I guess they are still on Central time. The plus side to getting up that early is that you a treated to sunrise in the desert.

And yesterday we were treated to a few rainbows during a few short, rare showers in the area.

Today we are planning a ride down to Tombstone (the town too tough to die). Every day at 2:00pm they have a staged re-enactment of the "Shootout at the OK Corral" the most famous gunfight in the old west. Funny they chose 2pm for the re-enactment, as the actual gunfight was reported to take place around 3pm October 26, 1881.

Have a great day everybody!

  1. Is this your first time to Arizona?
I hope you two love it as much as we do! Love Tombstone, Bisbee, Yuma, Quartzsite, Sedona.
Your El Paso Freightliner experience sounds like a nightmare. We all have those hiccups from time to time. - But in the end, we remember the good times. :)

  2. I have been to northern Arizona previously, but we never stopped in southern Arizona. This is Nancy's first time to Arizona so the whole thing is new too her.

We both are loving it here. So open and beautiful.

Yep, El Paso FreightLiner was a bummer but we didn't let it bother us for long. ;-) I just want to make sure to warn other folks so as they can avoid the same treatment.

We are looking forward to doing quite a bit of exploring here in southern Arizona! So much to see and do!
